Simulation trading is a core feature of PropShopTrader, designed to allow traders to practice and refine their strategies without live market exposure. This environment helps traders develop their skills while preparing to transition to the Real Prop.
Key Features of Simulation Trading #
- No Real Exchange Orders: Orders are not sent to a live exchange, so any “fills” you see occur only within the simulated environment and won’t appear on a live exchange till the Trader transitions to the Real Prop.
- Profit and Loss Tracking: Although trades aren’t live, profits and losses are still tracked in your account, simulating a real trading environment.
- Performance Differences: Simulation trading may show better fills and less slippage compared to live trading, which can lead to slightly different results.
Success in the PropShopTrader Program: #
A successful trader in the PropShopTrader program will:
- Show consistency and scalability in their trading strategy.
- Demonstrate the ability to apply their system reliably in both simulated and live environments.
Prohibited Practices in Simulation Trading #
While simulation trading provides a risk-free environment, PropShopTrader prohibits certain practices to maintain fairness and identify true trading talent:
- Prohibited Trading Practices: Please review this page to understand the restricted activities.
- Gaming the System: Attempting to exploit the simulation environment for payouts or promotions is not allowed. PropShopTrader reserves the right to withhold promotions or payouts if a trader is found to be manipulating the system.
Simulation trading at PropShopTrader should be used as a tool to build real, sustainable trading skills, with a focus on responsible and authentic trading behaviors.
